Joyce Meyer joins critics of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill

In a statement released Monday, Meyer said it is “increasingly evident” that the Bill introduced in the Ugandan parliament is a “profoundly offensive, dangerous and disturbing attack on the very foundation of individual liberties and human rights afforded not only to the good citizens of Uganda, but on the at-large global community”. . . . → Read More: Joyce Meyer joins critics of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill

Forgiveness (Eph 1:7 http://blb.sc/2gXq). The very heart of Christianity. Such a need! Such a sacrifice to meet the need! Jesus Christ by an act of the will set aside His absolute right, privilege, and just requirement to destroy sin and everything tainted by it. (Though He still will one day—2Pe 3:10-11 http://blb.sc/2iwn.) In the very middle of dying, He with urgency and assurance asked God the Father to forgive His murderers (Luke 23:34 http://blb.sc/2adE). We are free indeed, free to be loved. (Rom 8:2 http://blb.sc/2eY1). For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Have we however put ourselves back into bondage by failing to forgive? Amos 5 presents something from a bit of a different perspective than we’re maybe used to: "Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord! Why would you have the day of the Lord? It is darkness, and not light." Amos refers to the Day of the Lord as a time of terror and death. After all, the majority of Amos’ immediate audience for the book would not be fairing well when the Lord visited his people. Fortunately for us, though we deserved judgment as much as the people of Israel did (for their idolatry and oppression of the poor), the Day of the Lord has already come for us in a sense: when God’s judgment was poured out on Christ for the sake of all who believe on him. Now, when the final Day of the Lord comes, we who believe have nothing to fear (and may indeed rejoice) for judgment had already come for us and was satisfied in the blood of the Lamb. (Seth)
