| Psa 1:1-2 | ¶ | Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. |
Modern Psycology {Freudian Psycology} is to Teach: Self Confidence, Self Fullfilment, Self Governance, Pride and Godlessness. These are Directly against the Word of God who Teaches to depend fully on him through his Word for all things. Psa 33:10 says “The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.” But, God says of himself, Pro 8:14 ”Counsel [is] mine, and sound wisdom: I [am] understanding; I have strength.” Pro 19:21 “[There are] many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” He is saying We are not to be a part of this World. The World looks after their own, but they are wise only in their own eyes. When we open ourselves to this type of counsel, we will be Decensitized to the righteousness of God’s Truth.
This is not to be a Burden placed on us by the Lord, it is for our benefit. Our God is not a God of Legalism and unfruitful burdens. He made us, he knows what is best! Best of all, he loves us. 2 Cor 11:2 says ”For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ.” For instance, when you take the sheets out of the dryer, You don’t want to see dingy sheets, grey in the center where you usually lay. Sooner or later you will buy new crisp, clean sheets and throw away the old! Such is God, he does not want, nor can he be near sin, it must be destroyed. I would rather not be in it when he discards it!
The only way to keep clean from Sin, is to be emersed in a wash. Psa 119:9 says “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word. ” and Mat 23:26 ”cleanse first that [which is] within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.” and Eph 5:26 ” That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,” and 1 Jo 1:9 ”If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.“

| Psa 1:3 | And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. |
Through the Word of God we have all we need. His Word Provides all the nourishment we need, bringing forth Fruit. see 2 Ti 3:16-17 ”All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” Notice it says [PERFECT], not good enough or adequate (as some versions may say), but PERFECT! Also, it does not say we ARE perfect, but we may be PERFECT through the Word of God. The more we are in the Word, the more like-minded we become with God. On the other hand, the more we listen to Oprah or Dr. Phil, the more like-minded we become with them! I like the saying ” We are what we eat, from our head to our feet!” Remember Psa 23:2 ”He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.” and Psa 95:7 ”For he [is] our God; and we [are] the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,” and Psa 100:3 ”Know ye that the LORD he [is] God: [it is] he [that] hath made us, and not we ourselves; [we are] his people, and the sheep of his pasture.“
We have all that we need to be Healthy Sheep, but what are we eating? I look at twinkies and Ho Ho’s and think ” oh they are so good!” After I have eaten a few, I say “Oh, I am sick!” A few years later, My body starts to show signs of my indulging of unhealthy treats. I look at others and realize I should have eaten a bit healthier in my younger days. In this Verse, He is giving us a loving word of advice, “Counsel” if you would, to eat what he has prepared. Don’t take the quick fix, the world’s advice “the counsel of the Wicked”. We will whither away, we will have no fruit to show, we will NOT prosper! We will be unhealthy, which will lead to our family to be unhealthy!
| Psa 1:4-5 | The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. |
The Chaff is the part of a Wheat Grain that is stripped and thrown away, It is seen as Worthless or Refuse. The Chaff has no nutritional value for our bodies. Usually, in the process of gathering the grain, the Wheat is thrown into the air or beat against a threshing floor so that the chaff falls off. The Chaff, in old times, was then burned or allowed to blow away. In either case, it was discarded as waste. The Bible makes it clear, those of no value will be discarded. Our Father loves us, make no mistake on this, He is a Jealous God. He wants our love and devotion back!
Have you ever watched those in Church? There are usually two reactions to the Spoken Word of God. They listen intently, as God speaks a personal message to their heart. As they listen, they begin to feel a deep sense of realness in what they hear. Maybe on that very day or maybe a day soon after, they begin to respond to the moving of God’s Spirit within them. At this point, a decsion must be made. Some leave in anger, hating God and the Condemnation (Guilt) they feel, or maybe they just put up with it because a family member is going. On the other hand, they fall to their knees in repentance to God for the Sin they have come to acknowledge. In either case, the Sinner cannot stand before God or his Judgement.
| Psa 1:6 | For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. |
Don’t think it easy to hide from God, He sees all things. God is not confined to a mortal body that has limitation. 1 Ch 28:9 says “know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.” He sees our Sin, whether we hide in a dark corner or are openly doing wrong. He also sees our hearts and the thoughts of our mind. He is looking for himself in us, but a lot of the time, we leave him behind.
